SKULL

Life-size solid glass skull

The Symbology of the Skull, a recurring motif in the classical iconography of many cultures, is certainly one of the most controversial symbols.

If at first glance it might express a negative value of death, in the popular tradition of the inhabitants of Tibet, Laddak and India, as well as for the people of South America (although in a more complex context: just think of the Festival of the Dead in Mexico), and even for northern races, such as the Celtic, it is considered very positive.

For the Orientals, it is seen as the representation of knowledge, of the wisdom of ancestors eager to heal their people. In Tibet, where it is particularly loved, it is considered an emblem of the transience of life, an image of what has been and what is, of the existence contained in it and which it represents.

As a personification of impermanence, it brings us back to the experience of death and the desire to overcome it, to its inevitability and the need to live life to the full by exercising compassion, and allows us to understand the limits of human knowledge.

This beautiful piece of solid glass represents a life-size human skull with a high level of detail; a sculpture that will fit into any environment, both classical and modern, and will capture the amazement of your guests with its perfect realistic representation.
