A colourful symbol of birth, longevity, love
Every thing, gesture, being in the world has a symbolic dimension: the opening of the peacock's tail is the symbol of the cosmic unfolding of the Spirit.
Thanks to its physical characteristics, the peacock symbolises spring, birth, new growth, longevity and love. It is used as a symbol of good luck and sometimes because of the beauty of its feathers it is also a symbol of pride and vanity.
It is also known as the bird of a hundred eyes. The eyes in its plumage represent the stars, the universe, the sun, the moon and the 'vault of heaven'.
Many cultures associate this beautiful animal with the positive transformation of any negative situation, as it feeds on young cobras and poisonous snakes, being able to ingest the poisons without being affected.
All this is wonderfully represented in this splendid sculpture, an elegant decorative element but also a multifunctional vase.
